The Gameshow Network

History is a lovingly complex theme. While there have been many great wars fought on all five continents and there have been fantastic medical achievments and other milestones, there has also been a great deal of time killing. When it comes to the subject of killing time, nothing is better at killing time than America's love affair with Game Shows. Thanks to the loving people at The Gameshow Network (now called GSN), we can relive -24/7 - that supreme time killer known as the game show.

I haven't watched The Gameshow Network in over a decade, but from what I understand it has taken somewhat of a slide in quality no different than the Sci-Fi Channel. Part of the reason for this is that you can only run re-runs for so long before people get bored. In the Sci-Fi Channel's case, they added some great new original programming and a ton of not so great TV movies of the week, but they also drastically cut back on their product of classic reruns of TV shows and films....many of which have now moved over to other channels. With The Game Show Network, we are getting a lot of nonsensical programming....much of which has little to do with game shows and a lot to do with poker and gambling. Huh?
