Sci-Fi and TV Conventions
Off the bat...let's say that that Sci-Fi and Television conventions that are held all across the United States are a great way to spend a little time on the weekend. (Throw out that beer bottle and get off the couch, man!) Part of the joy of these conventions is that you are able to meet your fav TV stars of yesteryear live and in person. Sure, some of these folks have changed a wee bit over the 20, 30 or 40 years that have passed since th TV program that made them famous has long since passed. Oh well... time does not hold still for anyone.
What is interesting about meeting these television icons when they make their personal appearances is that you get to hear their life stories about how they achieved their goals or landed that famous TV role that has made them an icon. Sure, they embellish the tales a little bit and that is to be expected...and it is also a lot of fun. One thing you will notice about these icons is the fact that mostly all of them worked for the fame that they achieved. Granted, while nepotism will always be a factor in Hollywood, when you meet some of these icons you will notice a certain trait that they developed their talent to a high level and when that talent hit the right role, they connected with an audience. Nepotism does not develop the type of charisma that most icons develop and it shows.
