Oh man, does anyone remember the cool SPACE: 1999 LPS that were released in the late 1970's? I played the hell out of the one that I owned as the radio theater type presentation of the stories were groovy as all hell ot listen to back in the days when home entertainment was limited and "spoken word" audio remained ultra-popular kids entertainment. I remember watching SPACE: 1999 in the late 1970's on local Philly television's Channel 17 ("The Great Entertainer"), but my most vivid memories of the TV series derive from the cool audio theater LP's that were released to tie in with the television program.


There were actually two LPs released as well as one of those cool book and record sets from Power Records ("The action comes alive as you read!") and I owned one of the LPs. I vaguely remember the stories on there with the two that stuck out in my mind being a tale when the crew landed on the earth at the time of Noah's Ark as well as a sincerely creepy tale dealing with a creature that had genocided its own race and now was aboard the crew's ship. (That tale was a really unnerving one)
