DALLAS Season 7 DVD
I recently purchased the "7th Season DVD" of DALLAS which is really the 6th season, but they counted the mini series as Season One on the first dvd...blah blah...
While I generally prefer TV series that are more action based, I always had an affinity for this series. Hence, I own all of the available DVDs. (Season 7 was released in July and is the most recent) At first, I kind of groaned at the first three episods in this DVD because they moved at a CRAWL. (DALLAS was always a talking heads show)
As the fourth episode roled around, it became obvious that this season was a well written one and the plots and drama are fairly well composed.
I always used to wonder about the reason why the first few epsiodes of the the start of very season of DALLAS started so slow until it finanally dawned one me: there were very few VCRs back in the day and when a program aired on network it only aired twice. If you missed it, you missed it. Because of this, the start of the season required a somewhat lengthy refresher in terms of reminding the audience where the sotrylines of the previous season left off. So, while this can can for some dull viewing when watching it on DVD, those who were first watching it in the fall of 1983 needed the refreshers. So there.
