When Starsky and Hutch Met Dracula
October 30, 1976. Mark that day down on your classic television trivia calender. That was the day the classic Starsky and Hutch episode VAMPIRE aired. While some may think that notion of the two hip detectives batting a vampire was a goofy plot idea...surprise, the episode was pretty well written and a lot of fun and, thanks to the great work by legendary character actor John Saxon, this is a classic of 1970's TV. (It's definitely better than the McCloud Vampire episode...Yes, McCloud also met a vampire...)
Back when there were only three network channels there was more emphasis around the holiday season for holiday themed episodes. (Anyone remember A BIONIC CHRISTMAS?) These episodes would then repeat every holiday season adding an additional episode to the season and, of course, a way of generating additional cash revenue. Some were decent, some not so decent and some were classics and this episode of Starsky and Hutch remains a classic as it possesses a huge cult following three decades after it first aired.
