Ok, maybe it is a stretch for me to say this will be my last discussion of the topic of Dog the Bounty Hunter mainly because I will probably write a little bit more about it when the Dog does the beg me for forgiveness tour on all the talk shows next week...

Anyway...It would seem that the Dog has decided to quit using foul language as he has made a pledge never to use those type of words anymore. It's about time Dog.

When you watch the program there were always a number of morality lessons to be found. The program was never about dragging people into court and slapping them around. The program center of forgiveness, remorse, learning life's lessons and a number of corny themes that despite being, well, corny were forgivable because everyone's heart was in the right place. What undermined much of this was the CONSTANT bleeping of foul language.

If there was anything that undermined much of the program it was the fact that dropping four letter words over and over again really pigeonholed the characters as uneducated and illiterate. Clearly, this was not the case because you couldn't reach the level of success these people had without a modicum of smarts. But running around using foul language at a drop of a hat was hardly a formula for presenting oneself as a smart cookie. In fact, if the program didn't use such language so flagrantly all the time it may have even been a bigger hit than it was. Trust me when i say this, those bleeps turn a lot of people off - particularly parents who do not want to subject their kids to such language.

If the program does survive - and that notion in tenuous at best - it will be without all the cursing. That, in and of itself, will be a huge improvement.
