Oh there have been some strange TV appearances. Oh, there have been many instances of disjointed humor on television before. Oh, there have been a number of strange one hit wonders that spawned odd TV appearances. But, oh my, there have been very few musical TV appearances that combined all the relative oddness of things that just don’t go together….such as half the hosts speaking Dutch and the guest having no clue what they are saying or what skit they are performing is about. Then, there is that little matter of a gimmicky and goofy pop song that was even considered idiotic when it was first released making and appearance on what seems to be Europe’s version of the Lawrence Welk Show. Ok, absolutely nothing in that description probably makes a thread of sense to you and that is fine. After all, Kung Fu Carl Douglas’ 1974 appearance on Dutch TV made even less sense….and here it is…pulled from the vaults…where it should have stayed locked up forever.
