I always dug the website JUMP THE SHARK and really, really wished I was the dude who came up with the idea for that site. Oh well. I guess I will have to get buy with this cool little blog that people seem to enjoy. Now, before I get into the issue of Superman and "shark jumping" I will say this: I always dug the episode of HAPPY DAYS where the Fonz water skied over a shark…but I disgress…. Since we talked a little bit about superheroes on TV recently I though it would be wise to mention one of the classic superhero programs of all time. If you check out the following you will notice that a number of people felt that the old George Reeves ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN television program never jumped the Shark. Superman Never Jumped To an extent, I agree. I always enjoyed watching the program as a kid but would have wished there were more supervillians for Superman to deal with but I guess budget and production limitations made that impossible. But, the old show was still wonderful to watch as a little kid mainly because it was a fun show where heroes were heroes and bad guys were bad guys. It was a simple formula but it worked. Sadly, it is often missing from television today. I do have to agree though….the program never really jumped the shark.
