I remember a long time ago watching a rare ABA basketball game on the ESPN Classic Sports network and something just occurred to me…exactly how much footage of the old ABA is known to exist? Considering that the AVA folded after only a few years you would wonder if any of the footage was junked. Clearly, some of it still exists as it airs on the aforementioned ESPN channel.  The ABA was a unique and cool sports league mainly because it had a unique rebel image. If you really want to learn more about the ABA I would suggest reading the Paradox Press book THE BIG BOOK OF TH 1970's. Of course, you could also check out those reruns on the ESPN Classics channel as well.
