Since I am singing the praises of TV Land this December 24, 2007 I thought I would make a great announcement: TV Land has a cool 24 marathon coming up (sorry, I forgot the exact date) featuring the debut of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES. It is somewhat shocking to me that it has been this many years yet the program has not been part of the TV Land line up. (Didn't the Turner channels hold the rights to it in the past?) This was probably one of the all time great sitcoms ever devised and it was utterly brilliant. I was basically addicted to this program when I was a kid and it aired on UHF (where else?) during the 1970's and 1980's and I don't think I have sat down and watched a full episode in over 20 years. Hmmm. Maybe I need to soak up that 24 hour marathon. Does anyone other than me remember the classic "smoking crawdads" episode with the hippies? I wonder how that one ever got past network censors. So, TV Land…you deserve a ton of praise. Much thanks!
