No, the open was not as good as the classic opening to its greatest rival DALLAS but the opening to DYNASTY still was a great opening that used a theme that truly did evoke the mood of the series. While some may assume that I have been knocking DYNASTY I need to point out that I have been looking at the first season episodes which was long before the series hit its proper stride. When it did hit its stride it started to work. Again, the excellent opening truly captured the mood of the era in which the series was such a strong prime time staple. This is a hybrid "long" version culled from the German credits and it contains an extended version of the theme. Fans of the series will find this opening quite enjoyable.
