I am in a somber mood this AM so rather than make some somber post I figured I would try some levity. This means I need to dig into my pop culture bag and dig out some reflections on kid's toy commercials. Here we have the 1978 Remco Energize Spiderman toy. Oh, was I going to be lighthearted? This was probably the least appreciated of all the Spiderman toys mainly because it does pretty much nothing. It has no joints in the arms and legs and has one purpose: mimicking climbing up the spider web line. Zzzzz. This was a dud toy that went over like a lead balloon. What is funny is the fact that there was a toy that was equally limited known as The Incredible Hulk Rage Cage that proved more popular. Well, at least for me and my friends. And where on earth did Spiderman get a Spider Copter???
